“armour , ME” is a culmination of scrap materials, video and sound. The objects, fabrics, and materials present in the video performance - had been dormantly inhabiting a small studio room for several months. Garbage that had yet to be parted with - found purpose, relationship, character and intimacy once applied to the body. Resulting in stronger reflections of my personhood. I felt better able to express, comfort, protect, and portray my identity while being protected by these arbitrary materials. These objects resonate as a means of protection. Protection from nudity beyond the physical anatomy - covering, enhancing, and displaying the internalized self.
